COVID-19: Refugees in Malaysia And the Care Society Provides

Updated: Sep 6, 2021

As of June 2021, over 100,000 refugees are registered in Malaysia through UNHCR. As COVID-19 cases in Malaysia continue to increase drastically every day, these refugees now face difficulties in seeking medical treatment and also daily necessities. However, communities in Malaysia have reached out to the refugees in an attempt to help them. Many foundations and NGOs as well have sought them out to provide them with all kinds of help such as with food, health, finance at least for now to help them get back on their feet. There are also foundations that have opened donation website portals as well as recruited volunteers in order to help them. Society can also help to make a difference for the refugees. A small help can go a long way.
