COVID-19 Impacts on Tokyo Olympics 2020

Updated: Sep 6, 2021

The Tokyo Olympics were held from 23 July 2021 after being postponed for 1 year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, there were strict safety measures to be adhered to in the Olympics Village including what people can and cannot do in order to keep order and maintain safety standards: 1. When dining for the athletes, they are made to order via a smartphone app equipped with the menu. The app also shows the congestion levels on each floor. 2. The gym accommodates up to 500 people but there will be dividers between the machines as caution. 3. An isolation “fever” room for those with a positive on the PCR Test. It has an air filtration system so that no virus can get out of the room. They will be kept there until they can be moved somewhere else.
